Hi,
Rotator cuff is composed of 4 muscles: supraspinatus is the major component.
Rotator cuff is responsible for your shoulder joint's stability.
Suprispinatus also plays major role in the initial should abduction ( lifting your hand away from your body) upto first 30 degrees.
hence, full thickness supraspinatus tear is almost synonymous to rotator cuff tear.
Ofcourse tear of all 4 muscles is more serious than only supraspinatus tear.
The treatment involves surgical repair & physical rehabilitation.
Please consult with orthopedic surgery.
