diarrhea with small bubbles
Optional Information: Gender: FemaleAge: 51 Already Tried: I have stomach upset, gas, bloating, diarrhea with tiny bubbles that surround each piece of floating bowel movement. I have been on a gluten free diet and using Longest lasting acidophilus with 1 billion organisms per capsules for the last 2 months. I have recently had a complete endoscopy/colonoscopy with biopsies that came back normal. Any other ideas that I can try or am I looking in the wrong direction?

How long have you had the diarrhea?
off and on for the last 3 months.
Have you had the colonoscopy over the past 3 months too?
Yes. The gastroenterologist felt that all symptoms would improve once I began the gluten free diet. My stools have been tested for giardia and other bacteria and came back negative for parasites.
In your case since almost any other significant disease has been ruled out, Irritable Bowel Syndrome remains a strong consideration. Has your gastroenterologist ever discussed that possibility with you?
Yes, but do you think that these strange bowel movements can be caused by irritable bowel?
Yes, most definitely.
IBS can cause (most commonly) abdominal pain or cramping along with bloated feeling and flatulence, diarrhea or constipation with mucous in stool.
