What can cause half of your eye to be bright red?
How long have you had this? How did this develop, was it after an injury or did it happen spontaneously? Is there any itching/pain?
Approximately 3 days
Developed spontaneously
Small amount of pressure but eased with a cool compress
The cause of the red eye is Subconjunctival Hemorrhage. This occurs when a small blood vessel in the eye ruptures. This occurs mostly due to strain, as in coughing, constipation, etc. This is not a serious condition, it will clear up by itself in one or two weeks.
