Hello Customer!
The MPV is the mean platelet volume (roughly size spread). Larger MPV means that premature platelets are in the blood from increased production. Low MPV means that the platelets are not being replaced by the bone marrow as rapidly as they should. This can be from a medication side effect (aspirin, pepcid, and others). Followup levels will be done to recheck or your dr will have you evaluated by a hematologist (blood specialist).
