Resolved Question:

I have blood in my spit after clearing my throat. This has happened twice, both times while jogging, probably 2 weeks apart. On both occasions, I did not have a bloody nose nor was there any blood when clearing my nose. I don't have a cold, flu or any other apparent symptoms. What could this be?

Blood while spitting is called hemoptysis.

Hemoptysis can occur due to conditions like bronchitis, tumor, tuberculosis, bleeding disorder etc. Sometimes it may be due to heart disease or may have a bleeding source in the gastrointestinal tract or locally in the oral cavity.

If the symptom recurs you may have consult your physician for complete evaluation.
