Customer Question

Oil is leaking from large locking nut next to where oil filter screws into engine block (MA engine Mazda(###) ###-####. Leaks fast when engine running. Please diagnose the cause if possible. Ron
JA: Have you ever replaced the gaskets? Maybe the hoses?
Customer: The oil leak is specifically leaking from the 1 inch nut next to where the oil filter screws into the engine block (MA engine Mazda 626).
JA: What year is your 626?
Customer: 1980
JA: Are you fixing your 626 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried to tighten the nut where the oil is leaking from. Unable to tighten further. Is the nut part of an oil pressure valve?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
