Mazda Repair Questions? Ask Mechanics for Answers ASAP
Hi Im David, thanks for using the site. based on my experience with 2 of these vehicle with just about the same symptoms, the ignition switch needs replaced. I was able to duplicate some of the symptoms by jiggling the key a bit and tapping around the area of the key cylinder while the vehicle was idling.
it may all be related to the ignition switch. check the alternator plug. make sure when you remove it that its not corroded inside, and when you put it back on it snaps into place. make sure all the connections on the battery are clean and tight and make sure the positive lead going into the fuse box is tight.
you're welcome please accept the answer and leave a 5 star rating for me if you were satisfied with my assistance. i will leave this open after you rate me if you'd like, in case we need to go further. thanks and have a great day
