Mazda MPV LX: 2004 Mazda MPV minivan failed smog because vehicle

Customer Question

2004 Mazda MPV minivan failed smog because vehicle would not communicate with what the technician called the OIS system. Communicates fine with the OBD tool. Is there a common cause for this? Unfortunately it was a test only station so I am $62.00 in and not sure if I've even begun to pay.

Hi Chadi, Since asking my question I have researched this issue thoroughly. I'm afraid there is no solution except to bring this vehicle to a mechanic with the technical knowhow to troubleshoot this problem. I have no rating to give you since we never really got into the problem. I appreciate your reply just the same.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer! The issue has to either be wiring, the powertrain control module or the equipment being used if it would not communicate.Do you still need help?
