Mazda 6: I had a key made, when I used it the car would not

I had a key made, when I used it the car would not start and I had trouble getting the key out. Would that have told the car to stop starting because now I can't get it to start. It just goes rrrr rrrr rrr but never catches

Hi there,
The factory key has a chip (transponder) inside and needs to programmed to the car, with the car, not by some "fly by night" programmer.
Is your new key a Mazda key?
