On my 2010 Mazda 6 I have noise coming from the wheels. The dealership first told me it was wheel bearings. Done...no difference. then they said it is alignment. Did that still no difference. The noise comes at around 30 K and gets annoying at 50 K. It sound slime whoop whoop whoop!
Already Tried: Front wheel bearings replaced and wheel alignment
Hello! Welcome to justanswer!A "woop, woop" noise is almost every time tires. Try rotating them first. If it gets better then you know its the tires.Only wheel bearings or tires make that type of noise.... Never an alignment. However if the alignment was off for a while that could have damaged the tires and hence making them now make noise.
Hi Anthony, Thanks for responding. The dealership initially did say it was front wheel bearings. My car is still under warranty. So they replaced the bearings. Made no difference. Their senior tech took it out for a road test and suggested alignment. Did that and made no difference. Now I have rotated the tires....the noise is still there. However I cannot pin point which wheel it is coming from. Could it be the carrier bearings at the Transmission??
Hello!Carrier bearings actually do not make much noise and fail very quickly. Also if they were bad, you would hear grinding and see oil leaks at the trans.
Ahhh.....makes sense. I looked at the CV joints and boots. No issue there. So you think things are pointing towards tires? I have 60,000 KM on my car? Thanks for the help Anthony.
Sorry for the delay...If you can't see any issues like torn boots on the cv axles or fluid leaks, you are hearing a bad tire. But not necessarily unsafe but bad and out of round.
