Disconect the battery and press the brake pedal for 15 seconds. this will reset the computer. reconect the battery, then reconect the battery and try driving it to see if it clears up. an auto parts store cannot check all of the codes. If the problem continues, it will need to be checked by a Ford or Mazda dealer.

That did nothing. The AT light is on and the curved lines for traction control is on and it will not show what gear it is in

Also when you crank the car and put it into gear, the acclerator is nonresponsive for about 10 to 15 seconds

there is a short on the vehicle's network somewhere. either the PCM, ABS, or TCM module. it will have to be checked by a dealed to find the cause. Most likely the TCM. Transmission control module.
