Hi welcome to will answer your question the best I can,

Getting a O0340 code does not mean that you have a Camshaft sensor failure, but a possible sensor failure , the code just puts you in the right direction as to where the problem is

P0340 possible causes
  1. PCM may have failed
  2. Cam shaft shaft position sensor may have failed
  3. wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
  4. Crank shaft position sensor may have failed
  5. an open circuit
Check all the wiring and connectors in the cam and crank shaft circuit.

A scann tool would make it easier to locate the problem and a scope to test if the two sensor are working correctly .
