WHAT ARE THE MOST LIKELY CAUSES FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON

This answer was rated:

WHAT ARE THE MOST LIKELY CAUSES FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON A 2007 MIATA WITH 39K MILES? THANKS PETER

Tim West :

Thanks for visiting Just Answer

Tim West :

There are several reasons the engine light could come on.

Tim West :

Like a gas cap being loose.

Tim West :

How does the vehicle run?

JACUSTOMER-qsl7403w- :

No change in performance on the '07 - runs well although at idle the engine feels (or so I imagine) like it's running a tiny bit uneven which, on my 1996 MX-5 would have meant plugs/wires. . FWIW, I almost exclusively do my own repairs and maintenance when schedule allows (e.g., my '96 Miata with 200K was serviced almost entirely by me. Thanks Peter

Tim West :

Gotcha, well the first place I would go is to Autozone and let them scan the codes.

Tim West :

THey will do it free.

Tim West :

This will give you a better idea of what the problem is.

JACUSTOMER-qsl7403w- :

Thanks - That sounds good.

Tim West :

If you can get back to me the code I will go over it with you.

JACUSTOMER-qsl7403w- :

That would be great! Thanks!
