Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

How old are the two Humminbird fishfinders in question ?

In what orientations do they now work and not cut off, please?

OK, I understand.

Have these two fishfinders been subjected to considerable shocks or vibration?

Have they been gotten wet or damp fairly often or to a significant extent?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No
Expert:  Russell H. replied 1 month ago.

When turned or bumped, do they go Off completely?

And do they stay Off, also, when left along, no longer moved, etc.?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
l don't understand the third one

OK, they turn Off completely, and they stay Off.

That sounds like a loose power connection in each of them. That is why I asked about, "Have they been gotten wet?" and "Have they been subjected to vibration or shocks?" Such an effect might loosen up, or (if gotten wet or damp) corrode the power connections.

Since they are about 2 years old, they are no longer under warranty. I advise that you have them opened, and the power connections re-seated. Then when closed up, the connections may be more secure, and may hopefully not come loose.

This of course, should be accompanied by a close inspection for any visible abnormalities and/or corrosion, in case something of the sort needs fixing.

Let me know if this answers your question - or, if you would like further instructions. Thanks.

I was hopeing you would help me fix them like spray the contact are scrape some connection
Expert:  Russell H. replied 1 month ago.

Well, contact cleaner might get into the electronics of this sort of device, and ruin some components... so contact cleaner spray is not necessarily at all appropriate.

Connections inside this sort of device are very delicate. Scraping would be inappropriately indelicate and could damage things, unfortunately.

Also, simply un-doing the power connections, then re-connecting, will scrape any minor corrosion off the connections. This is a professional-level technique, and very often effective.

Please try it.

Let me know how it goes, please. I may have further advice to offer. Thanks.
