Customer Question

I have a Humminbird 859 di he unit. My problem is that the unit turns off every time I start my boat. The unit is wired to the fuse block in my console. Should I wire it directly to the starting battery. The I-Pilot link is wired to a separate 24 volt system

Hi Kris,

this occurs because the electrical draw of the starter is so great in that instant that the sensitive electronics of the chartplotter lose power.
