Marine Electronics Questions? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Hi my name is*****'ll be helping you.
What manufacturer for this unit?
Is it the Raymarine?
Ok, stand by for a moment please
I'm not familiar with a Lowrance C70.... Are we sure that's the correct model?
Raymarine makes a C70 but Lowrance does not
we are talking about a fish finder correct?
I'm familiar with the C70 GPS plotter and fish finder by Raymarine
Hahaha, I'm right there with you, lol
No problem, lets see if we can get through this
So you say it gives a blue screen and then shuts down?
So normally this is a power issue. But first I need to know if it stays powered up, or if it shuts down after a minute or so.
Ok, sorry took a quick break
So does it go dark or just go blue?
That is caused by a bad connection to the display (usually)...
ok, I'll be here.
The connectors may not seem loose but if you wiggle them (carefully) and see a flicker or change, they might be dirty. Can you try moving them and let me know?
I would hate to be this close and not solve it, but if you can't continue I understand. I would appreciate it if you continue with me tomorrow so we can solve it and I can get rated, Thanks.
We receive no $ without a rating. I will continue with you tomorrow then. Goodnight. ~Wayde~
Good morning, I have to run out for a few. Can I get back to you around 2:00?
Are you available?
Do you have a multi meter or a simple voltage meter?
Hi, I've been trying to help you further with your problem but I need a response to offer more help. I think you have a voltage problem. Please make sure that the B+ voltage at the unit is at least 11.5 volts DC. If not, then the batteries in the boat need to be charged to full voltage, or the wire gauge is incorrect (which I doubt). If none of these are the case, than I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the unit has to be returned for service.
I hope I have provided you with 5 star service. Please rate me accordingly. If you need any other help, I'm here for you. ~Wayde~
