I am Tech Michael and I will be assisting you today.
Please be patient as these are technical questions that may require a bit of conversation to solve.
Also remember to be detailed in your description of the problem.
That will help me make a diagnosis in a timely manner;-)
How old is your Garmin?
Does everything else appear to work to with this unit or are there additional issues?
Thank you
Tech Michael
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Year old no every thing works perfect the second I put my card in it says to many maps why does it say that and how can I erase maps ?
Expert:  Michael replied 1 year ago.
Thank you for that info.
Are there already maps stored in your Garmin that you put in or are they all on the mem card?
Also who made the card you are trying to load into your Garmin?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's a garmin card and I dont know if there are any loaded if there are how can I check and remove
Expert:  Michael replied 1 year ago.
Hi thanks for that information. The Garmin doesn't store the information about the maps when the card is removed, it is only there on the cards memory.
I need to know also if you loaded the maps on the card or it came that way with the maps already on the card?
It will tell me if there is a problem with the Garmin or the card;-)
ALso is your Garmin just under 1 year old or just over that period of time?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's just over that time and I bought the card
Expert:  Michael replied 1 year ago.
Thanks but did you download the maps onto the card or did it come pre loaded?
That will tell me lot about what is wrong;-)
Thank you for your patience.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No it came with maps all ready on the card
Expert:  Michael replied 1 year ago.
Thank you for that info and your patience.
The problem is with the Garmins memory. There unortunately is a problem with the Garmin, not the card.
Last question I promise:
How old is your Garmin?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Maybe 2 years old
Expert:  Michael replied 1 year ago.
Thank you for that.
You will need to send your Garmin in for this repair.
it has a failed memory location in an IC used for internal memory. When this happens the unit gets hung up and will display things related to memory issues as yours is doing.
The company is fair priced, quick to have the unit returned to you and does quality work as well.
