I don't know the password to my husband's Apple ID. It says

I don't know the password ***** my husband's Apple ID. It says a name -***@******.*** but everything I do says that doesn't exist. I have been going in circles for 2 hours now and need help.
JA: When did you last reset your Apple ID or password?
Customer: I don't know. Seems it is just all messed up. Can we start over with the Apple Id?
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Not that I know of.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Seems like everything on the computer. He doesn't know some of the answers to the questions so I have just been going in circles.

Customer: Everything goes away when I do that. It goes to set an appointment.
