My IPad decided to require me to enter my passcode. I never had to do this before. Don't know a passcode.
JA: What's the brand/model/Operating System (OS) of your computer?
Customer: Toshiba
JA: When did you purchase your computer? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Dec. 2014 I think. Have not tried anything else. My granddaughter tried and then told me to make this contact for instructions.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just that I am not tech savy.

The only way to bypass the lock is to perform a factory reset..

  1. From a computer, go to icloud.com/find.
  2. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
  4. Select the device you want to erase.
  5. Click Erase [device] to erase your device and its passcode.
  6. Now you can restore from a backup.
