Apple watch - big I symbol on watch and says cannot install software update - watch has been fully charged
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: not much
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: what do you suggest
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: the watch hasn't been used for a while was losing charge after about an hour of wearing (would disconnect) and therefore we tried the software update but after a night trying to install has still not revived the watch - front of watch now indicated to contact apple help

This is usually caused by a glitch in the firmware and can be resolved with a forced restart. Follow these steps to force restart your Apple Watch, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.
