Been trying to install Sierra but I get the reply This

Customer Question

Hi Mike,
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Been trying to install Sierra but I get the reply This version of macOS 10.12.1 cannot be installed on this computer.. My seal number isW89161V70TG and was purchased early 2009. I wonder if you could help- thanks
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: affermative
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Checked the space available, restarted, checked memory. Everything seems to be OK. I must add that Sierra notification as requirement is a late 2009 purchase. Perhaps that's the problem
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

If its a mid 2009 Mac, then it does not meet the requirements. It needs to be a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro or later.
