One of the most common questions we get is, “Can I upgrade the MacBook Air RAM or memory?” Although you can upgrade the RAM on older MacBooks and MacBook Pros, unfortunately there is no way to upgrade MacBook Air RAM or memory after you buy the notebook.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 7 months ago.

WHY...you ask?

Because the RAM is SOLDERED to the Motherboard.

Other Macbooks are snap in RAM modules....that can be swapped out....but the MacBook AIR.....is not like ths.

They did this to make it smaller and lighter.

I wonder to know if a can do that, and if the answer is yes fiche RAM memory i have to buy and wherein USA?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
but I see videos on youtube that explain you can do that. I am confuse
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 7 months ago.

Are you asking if YOU can take the MacBook AIR apart.....DEsolder the current RAM module........and then REsolder in a bigger capacity RAM module, and put it back together....ALL without breaking something in the process.

.

No......dont do it....you will break somethign.

Show me the videos you speak of?

Give me a lin to the videos.....I will tell you if what they are doing is possible FOR YOU

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
ohh. I bought a wrong idea, basad on that youtube video
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 7 months ago.

MacBook AIR you cant add or change the RAM....its just not possible without a RAM solder Template.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 7 months ago.

But thats not even your biggest challenge.

The biggest problem is REMOVING the OLDER RAM MODULE.

YOu can easily get solder on the main board and ruin it.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
ok thank you very much. I will not make that mistake. have a nice day
