The first thing to check, and maybe you have, is it still connected to the network in your location? Here's help on checking:
4th generation (newer): Go to Settings > Network.
2nd or 3rd generation: Go to Settings > General > Network.
Does it show it is on WiFi, or if it is connected with Cat5,6,7 (Ethernet) cable - does it show it is on the network.
