I have Apple iPod and Apple iPad - today I downloaded books

I have Apple iPod and Apple iPad - today I downloaded books from Kobo to my pc and (ipad and ipod were both syncd before I started process). Books downloaded to pc and ipad but not ipod. Eventually I got the reading "not connected to internet. I checked pc and ipd e-m was seent and receivd so - thst wasn't the cause.
I contacted Kobo repair - they told me to down load new Kobo app - since intrnet it out for ipod ...nothing further haopopened.
I checked settings on ipod Version 7.10.5 is shown - ipad shows Version 8.1.2.
I was just asked if I did downloads - I recall they seem to be automatic - if not, how do I do it?

Please follow these steps>

Step 1:
Tap Settings.

Step 2:
Tap General.

Step 3:
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Reset.

Step 4:
Tap Reset Network Settings.

Step 5:
You will get a prompt warning you that this option will delete all network settings and return them to factory default settings. Tap Reset to continue.

Step 6:
Wait while your iPod resets its network settings.

Once the reset process is done, your network settings will return to its factory default settings. Your ipod will also automatically restart. Then check.
