I have error 9 with my Ipad air, I tried to restore it and itunes is refusing to do that
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Sorry I dont understand the question- do you mean what system am I running itunes from?
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: I tried to install the last update but have not been able to
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I have reset the ipad, I have tried the wondershare (but not bought the product, i cant afford it)
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?

Could you disable your security program and try it, it looks like their is interference on the USB host.

I do not have an active security program that I know (everything is out of date)

Basically what it said- iTunes cannot restore iPad due to unknown error 9 (something to this effect)

I have tried all my USB ports and tried different wires (which are all Apple original cables)

The iPad in my experience is very picky about what cables it will restore with. Error 9 is almost always related to the cable, NOT the dock connector/flex cable. Use the official Apple cable if you still have it, or borrow one from a friend.
