We recently got an airport express for our household, and it

Customer Question

hi. we recently got an airport express for our household, and it while it seems to increase range and speed when it stays on, it frequently starts cycling, not ure if i should use the airport utility, as apple says it isn't really compataible with sierra. we have a pretty big range of devices, the newest being a 2016 mackbook pro and the oldest a powerbook g4. mostly we use the new mackbook pro, our iphones, a 7 and an SE, an airbook 2010 and an imac 2009. so i guess my question is, is the airport going to be helpful with that variety? and if we coose to focus on just our laptops ans phones, what set up should we use?
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: the airport express? none
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: we installed sierra on everything it suggested
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: well, originally i was using the airport utillity, but then i read that for sierra it no longer worked
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: also just wondering that sierra might not be the best os for our older macs
