My IMac screen is frozen. How do I get out of this condition?
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: Very little - got it for Christmas.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Tired to download something the other day but did not take.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: None. No commands respond. My mouse still works.

Try these steps please.

  1. Start or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key. The white Apple logo appears on your display.
