I can't get into my iphone
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Don't know because I can't get a settings screen
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I can't get any screen except "forgot apple id"
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?

Hi!

The only way to bypass the lock screen is to perform a factory reset on your iPhone.

  1. From a computer go to icloud.com/find.
  2. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
  4. Select the device you want to erase.
  5. Click Erase [device] to erase your device and its passcode.
  6. Now you can either restore from a backup or set up as new.
