Trying to log into iCloud for my son on our shared OSX

Customer Question

Trying to log into iCloud for my son on our shared OSX Yosemite iMac...he's successfully using iCloud on iPad and iPhone... when I try to sign in with his apple ID on the iMac it says "You can't sign in at this time. Try signing in again."
JA: When did you last reset your Apple ID or password?
Customer: Note there's nothing in ~/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: I keep it updated... we're at versio 10.10.5
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: reset the keychain... rebooted... checked the Libaries folder...
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's about it... not sure what to try next

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you with your issue. I'd like to gather some additional information. Was the iCloud login working for his account on this MAC before any updates or is this the first attempt?
