Customer Question

Macbook Air shuts down about 5 seconds after I hear the chime
JA: Just to clarify, how old is your MacBook Air and what operating system are you running?
Customer: Original - the first 13" Air w/2GB RAM and an 80GB SSD. It was running Mountain Lion I think
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No The computer has been unplugged and unused for three years
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: non-removable battery reset, PRAM reset, booting from external USB HD. Also booting into single user mode
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: It will not run on battery power regardless of how long it's been plugged in, and the light on the charger never turns to amber - just green.
