Hello,I am the person that will be helping you today. Is it a typical usb mouse? If so, you can plug it into any usb on the back or the front of your Mac computer. Doing so, will automatically install the mouse and it will work. I look forward to hearing your feedback concerning whether or not your problem is fixed.I hope to hear back that all is working. If this is so, please do not forget to rate my help on the top of this page (choose the number of stars and click the Submit button). If it is not, please respond below.I will be standing by,Jason

I re-attached the mouse after it fell off. Normal things are going wrong, so I'd like a description of how to -
should the white stripe enter the computer on the right or left? Exactly where does it go in?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
The mouse "fell off" or was it just unplugged? Which white stripe are you referring to?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The mouse end has a metal piece with a white vertical strip. Does that get attached on the right or left?
The mouse light is off since I re-attached it
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
I am not looking at your mouse, so I am not sure what you are describing. Are you saying that the mouse has fallen apart?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does that vertical metal get attached on the right or left? -
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
Are you referring to the end of the cable?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm saying that the mouse was probably not attached correctly
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is no normal light on the mouse
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
Okay. There is only one connection, correct? The end of the mouse cable needs to be plugged into the Mac. The usb cable only allows you to put it in one way. If it fits in the port, then it is inserted correctly.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thank you. Where should it be attached? Example - the back of the computer has xxx many places to insert.
The mouse goes here - a description for the non-technical!
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do you have a picture?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
The cable will fit into all usb ports on the computer. You can plug it into any of the usb ports. If it doesn't work, try another.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
please define usb port

I didn't see the right information. Is there a way for the mouse to be inserted the wrong way, turned around incorrectly?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
No, there is no way to turn it around incorrectly.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm here because I am searching for this information. I inserted the mouse after it fell off. As soon as I did,
my computer stopped doing certain things. Would it help if I turn it around 90 degrees?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The mouse light went off
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
What does the mouse end look like?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is a narrow metal piece - I don't know the name of it. One side is a white piece and nothing in the other half.
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
What shape is it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Should I remove the mouse and re-plug it in?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
There is only one connection, correct? The connection is at the end of the cable. What shape is the end of the cable?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
After I put it in, I had a photo on my camera, I used iphoto, and tried to get it onto the desktop.
It didn't work - that has never happened.
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
Are you plugging the camera and the mouse directly into the Mac or are you plugging it into a box that plugs into the box?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
into the Mac, as usual
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The photo was my drivers license. Should that have worked alright, like any other photo?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
The usb port may have faulted when the mouse fell out. Please, turn your Mac off and back on. Once that is done, test if the mouse works.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Should I Restart or Shut Down?
Expert:  Jason Jones replied 1 year ago.
Shutdown, please.
