Customer: replied 8 months ago.
many that I ran out of space, the problem is that I am trying to rebuild my email, went to Apple Store, cleared 20 fb of space, hit rebuild and my emails started loading but it wasn't enough space I guess and the rebuild process stopped I am missing all 2015 emails and most of 2016
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Well I want to delete 2013 and 2014 emails so I can rebuild and get my 2015 and 16 emails
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
But every time I try to remove the 2013 emails, they show up again in my inbox
Expert:  Ashik replied 8 months ago.

Deleting emails usually don't give space. You need to delete unwanted musics, movies, videos etc and empty trash. Open your home folder and trash all unwanted files

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I did already
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
my drive is maxed out
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
My drive space
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
You may have to get in computer to fix it, but I am chatting from my phone
Expert:  Ashik replied 8 months ago.

What is the total space and how much is available now ?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Total space is 234gb and I have right now 0 kb left
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Ran out of space
Expert:  Ashik replied 8 months ago.

Don't turn off your Mac. If you turn off your Mac, it may not turn on again.

Here the only solution is, delete unwanted files and empty trash. Do you have an external hard drive there ?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have deleted everything, I went to the Apple Store yesterday, all we need to delete is 2013 and 2014 emails and the. Rebuild and we will be ok
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I don't have external drive, just a flash drive with like 50gb at the most
Expert:  Ashik replied 8 months ago.

Ok, lets check if Mail is taking up the space. In Finder, hold down Option key, click on GO menu and select Library. In Library, select Mail folder and press Command and I. What is the space used for Mail folder ?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I did that and it is taking hours to give me that answer
Expert:  Ashik replied 8 months ago.

Who is your email provider ? Gmail Yahoo etc

Customer: replied 8 months ago.

That is an optional additional service. If you accept the offer, then I will connect to your computer and try to fix this issue for you.

Or I can give you instructions in here without any additional payment.

You will have to delete those emails from Yahoo server first, then turn off internet/WiFi of your Mac. and delete those old emails from Mail. Then rebuild and this won't download those messages from server

Messages alone won't take up your space. It is probably the attachments of emails taking up the space. You should delete the attachments. Go to Mail folder (in Library), open Mail Downloads folder and trash the files from there (make sure you don't trash important attachments)

Also hold down Option, click on Go > Library. Open Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads and trash files from here as well. Let me know how it goes

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Ok i will try these steps

Also prevent your Mail from downloading attachment automatically. Open Mail go to Mail menu > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced. Uncheck the box labeled "Automatically download all attachments"
