So the problem is still you cannot activate the phone correct?
whats the message you get on the iPhone when it fails to accept it?
ok, it means the Apple ID your putting in is not the one you used when you first set up the phone Chris.
Try to find the correct Apple Id for the phone via my link below

Ok, then it will have been another email address you had some time ago or a Typo you did when you set it up
If you cannot past this,
You will have to reset the iPhone, there is no other way to remove this. Its going to remove all data and return the phone to new but you cannot avoid it
To do the reset
Connect the phone to the computer and open itunes
Hold the power and home button down until you see
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode..."
Click Restore Phone, let this complete and it should now work
