My apple ipad said I should update to a newer version ..I

my apple ipad said I should update to a newer version ..I said Ok .
then the trouble began ..
wanted mt password *****
I typed it in ..
ipad said invalid
I tried again. and again still said invalid ..
It is the correct password, because I have it marked inside my Ipad box,
Now, my Ipad is disabled !

I'm sorry about the issue. Please try the following fix:

  1. Open the iTunes program on a Windows or Mac computer. If needed, download and install the iTunes software on the computer at the Apple website below first:
  2. If possible, press & hold the Power button on the iPad until it lets you slide to turn off, then slide to turn off.
  3. Connect the iPad to your computer with the iPad's USB cable.
  4. On the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  5. After 10 or 11 seconds, release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button (for about another 10 seconds) until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
  6. Click Restore / factory reset.
