Customer Question

I am replacing an iMac that had a HD fail and the replacement HD does not work with some systems (eg. iTunes). I purchased a new iMac and in setting it up, I am running into a message that my email address is already in use. It is on the old iMac, 2 iPads and an iPhone. How can I get the new iMac to accept my email address?

Hello and thank you for choosing JUSTANSWER.com

.

In order to use your OLD email on the NEW iMac......you have to setup the EMail application (Mac Mail) with your email settings.

.

Do you know HOW to do this?

I do not know how to do this.

I will be posting the instructions ONE by ONE, and at each step i want you to CONFIRM you understand, and then go and DO IT.

Make Sense?

Here comes the first Step!

On which computer?
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

On your iMac, Open Mail. If you haven't added a new account yet, you'll be taken directly to the Add Account prompt. If you're adding an additional account, or this prompt doesn't otherwise load automatically, you'll need to select Add Account from the Mail menu.

I am at open mail on the old iMac.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!

Which Mac are you trying to fix the email problem? Old or New?

.

Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

it looks like you said you wanted to get your NEW iMac to work with Email....NOT the odl imac.

So, why are you on the OLD imac?

Cn we talk on the phone? I'll be glad to call you... Need a phone number.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

unfortunately we can not.

i mean we can....but it woudl cost MORE.

As that is classified as an ADDITIONAL service, and if i dont collect the additional service fee, then i cant call you. Not my rules.

I am just trying to set up the. New one... I can't get past the request for my email address.
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

Is it asking for you to SETUP a NEW email account.....or asking for your CURRENT email?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
This isn't working. So I am signing off. Thanks for you attempt.

Hello,

it appears you may still be having issues but this should be a simple fix. Would you still like assistance?

Thanks,
