ok, so you now know your Apple ID and Password. The apple ID is email address you used, and you now have a new password.
Use this please on the iPod and let me know the results.
What was the message you got when it did not work?
ok, then you used a different email address on this iPod (you said iPad but I assume you mean iPod).
What model iPod is this?
Do you have iTunes installed on your computer?
ok, install iTunes from my link below
Once done, connect the iPad to the computer
Hold the power and home button down until you see
"iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode..."
Click Restore iPad, let this complete and it should now work

You will have to take the iPad into an Apple Store and they will need to do the steps I gave you. Then you can use it again.
