Hi and Welcome. My Name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you today with your question.

There are several methods to do it. Free and paid ways.

Lets try the free way first. You can use this application Handbrak to copy the DVD Video to your Mac --> https://handbrake.fr/

(To install and open Handbrake, you may need to allow permission from System Preferences > Security and Privacy)

If you want to make a copy of DVD to another DVD, then follow the instructions in here --> http://www.cnet.com/news/need-a-copy-of-your-dvd-mac-os-x-does-that/

The most simplest way is, put the DVD to your Mac. You will find the DVD icon on desktop. Right click (or control + click) on it and select Open. You will find several folders there. Copy the VideoTS folder to desktop. You will find VOB file in that folder. Those are the video files. To play those files, you can use this application --> http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

Let me know if you have any difficulty.

I am wanting to download the dvd to my macbook then email it to someone

Im sorry but I cannot pay extra to have you remote

Expert:  Ashik replied 1 year ago.

It is possible to download the DVD to your Mac, but it is not possible to email it because the file is too large and email system can't handle it.

I will do the remote for you free. Follow the steps below to start remote support session.

You have to do this from your computer itself. On your computer, goto this website ---> www.fastsupport.com

In FastSupport website, you will see two text columns. Name and Support Key. Under Name, enter your name and under Support Key enter this code --- > 570800752

or click this link -> https://www.fastsupport.com/570800752

Click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions to connect. An application named Citrix Online Launcher will be downloaded Then open the Citrix Online Launcher file you see there and then open the Citrix Online Launcher application. Allow permission to connect if asked.

Let me know if you have any difficulty connecting to me.

Expert:  Ashik replied 1 year ago.

You have not connected to me yet.

You can copy the DVD to your Mac, but you can't email the video file because the file can't be handled by email. But you can upload the file to third party 'file sharing' website like Google Drive, Dropbox etc which allow you to share big files over internet.

On your Mac, go to this website and download Handbrake application --> https://handbrake.fr/

Handbrake is the application we're going to use to copy and convert the DVD to a file and save it on your Mac (let me know if you have any difficulty installing handbrake).

After instaling Handbrake open it. Then follow the instructions in this website to conver it to a Video file and save it on your Mac --> http://www.macworld.com/article/1157590/how_to_rip_dvd_handbrake.html

Let me know once you did that and I will send you instructions on how to send it to 'someone'
