I used a Data Rescue Software to recover my files.

Hi Bret,

The recovered keynote files should be placed in their original folder(s).

Data Rescue should do this automatically.

What happens when you try to launch the presentation?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi Pete, I get the following message when I try to launch the recovered file:The document "Travis_Samples.Keynote" could not be read.
The document does not have a valid frame
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am in California and its very late here. Are you there?
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

Hi Bret,

Yes I am here.

Are you happy to continue now?

Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

You will need to try repairing the recovered files.

There is one quick fix that usually works:

1: Rename the file to a .zip file - make a copy of the keynote file, and if the file name ends with .key, change it to .zip. Otherwise, just add .zip to the end of the filename.

2: Open the zip archive. Double click on it, and Finder should decompress the .zip archive into a folder of the same name. If you open the folder, you should see a bunch of files there, including any images you've added to your presentation.

3: Rename the folder back to a .key file - highlight the name of the folder, press Enter to rename it again, and change the extension at the end to .key

Now try opening the keynote file again. Let me know if that works...

I did what you asked.I got an 'Archive Utility' NoticeUnable to expand "Travis _ Samples.keynote.zip" into "Desktop"
(Error 1 - Operation not permitted.)
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Anyway, I can send you the 20mb Keynote File
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

To get around the error message you are getting when trying to expand the ZIP file, try using StuffIt:

That failed immediately.Message: "A Failure has occurred"
The archive may be damagedThis is very frustrating. Every 24 hours I am getting one answer from you. You are not available during my normal hours. You are only available when I am sleeping. (Which I was not informed would be the case). Can you fix this within 24 hours? or do I need to get a refund and find a place where they can give me real customer service?

Hi Bret,

I have sent you 4 messages within the past 24 hours.

Let me see if another expert can assist you more timely...

I will opt out of this question.

Pete.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
you will get a poor rating Pete. Look at the messages. You have given me (2) things to do. Over the past 24 hours. I told you were contacting me during my sleep time, you didn't even acknowledge it.I responded to your answer and did not get a response 17 hours later
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

I have opted out so that someone else can assist you more quickly.

A poor rating left for me will deter others from helping.

I do not know what your sleep pattern is, or what you want me to acknowledge regarding it.

Hopefully someone else can assist you more timely.

All the best.

Pete.
