Please try removing the dongle, restarting the computer, and then putting the dongle in a different USB port. Based on the message you are receiving, it looks like it's not seeing the dongle at all. Where you're seeing unknown should be the devices name or drive letter. What you have tried with the Windows system 32 directory is smart, but this is one of the few cases in which the driver it's looking for is not there. You should be able to verify the key is good by using the XSKey application. Are you able to see anything on the USB dongle when you plug it in?
