- Please open the Mail application on your computer (it is the mail stamp icon on the Dock, or open Finder, then open Applications, then open Mail.)
, then click on the Mail menu at the top, then click on Preferences
, then click on the Accounts tab near the top
, then click the + (plus) button at the bottom left
, then continue to add your email account
, make sure to select the POP option (not IMAP option) when prompted.
, and use these settings if prompted:
Incoming Mail Server - Name: mail.comcast.net
Incoming Mail Server - Port Number: 995 (POP3 With SSL) or 110 (POP3 Without SSL)
User Name: your full comcast email address
Password: your comcast email password (it is case-sensitive)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - Name: smtp.comcast.net
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - Port Number 587 (SMTP With SSL) or 465 (SMTP without SSL)
User Name: your full comcast email address
Password: your comcast email password (it is case-sensitive)
