Customer Question

New to Skype on Mac. When I open Skype, I see menus for Skype/File/Edit/View/Contacts/Conversations/Window/Help. The Skype guide says that when I click on a contact, I should see a screen which shows the contact, let's me make calls, add phone number, etc. but I don't. I don't even find the screen which shows my contacts. Help please.
