Problem with my Mac book Pro --- I cannot open iPhoto. Everytime

Customer Question

Problem with my Mac book Pro --- I cannot open iPhoto. Everytime I try to open iPhoto, I get a message that says: "iPhoto is being updated. iPhoto cannot be opened while it is being updated." Can you help me? Or do I need to bring my computer in?

Hello & Welcome to JustAnswer.
How long has it been since it's updating?

Many days, maybe months, I don't know because I don't go into iPhoto very often, but discovered this problem when I tried to download photos from iPhone recently.

Do you have the back up of your iPhoto library? Were there any photos in before?
