Hello, I would like to unlock this IPad 2
, we travelled to the USA for a week 2 years ago & bought a SIM card from AT & T . TODAY I PUT A NEW SIM CARD FEOM HERE TOBENABLE THE INTERNET @ nothing happened , so I went to a Aaple shop here in the UK & they couldn't help as they don't have locked things here in UK

Now, when you insert the sim. And then hard reset your ipad. ( holding down the sleep wake and home button for 20 seconds.
When the ipad turns back on. Whats the exact, word for word error message you receive?

Did you return the Sim card you purchased?
The issue you had was most likely because, you purchased a 4g or 4glte sim card , and the ipad 2 can only run up to a 3g sim card.
You need a 3g sim card for a local provider, such as vodaphone or O2..
For instance, here is a 3g specific sim card.

That will work in your ipad. 4g and 4glte cards, will not.
