Ok, Can you tell me the exact version of OS X you are currently running, please? Click the Apple logo in the menu bar at the top left of the screen Select "About This Mac" In the window that opens, look for the "Version" information. Please let me know what it says. Thanks,John

Thanks! Insert the USB flash drive into the Mac. In the Finder, click on "Go" in the menubar and choose "Utilities" Locate the "Disk Utility" app and open it In the left hand sidebar, choose your USB Flash Drive. (If not listed, or you are unsure which to choose, just let me know). On the right hand side of the page, click "Verify Disk" (If the procedure uncovers errors, please let me know for further instructions to repair) Once the process has completed, Quit Disk Utility and see if you can access the drive normally. I've already done that and it doesn't show up

Hi again, can you please clarify; Does it not show up in Disk Utility or are you able to run "Verify Disk" but it still doesn't show up afterwards? john
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

it doesn't show up on Disk Utility - I've run verify disk, etc on my hard drive as well to see if that would do anything - but nothing.

Ok and have you been able to try accessing the drive on another computer?
