Customer Question

I have an iMac 24in. desktop and just downloaded Yosemite. It required a Java upgrade
which I downloaded. Now the Illustrator CS4 and Photoshop CS4 say I need Java
"Legacy Java SE6 runtime." before they'll open. How do I get this??

Welcome, my name is ***** ***** I will assist you today!
If you would rather have me connect to your mac and solve this issue in person let me know, and I can send an offer for that additional service.
Lets try installing a specific version of Java, if this doesnt fix the issue we will try other steps as needed.
Please go to this page
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
You have to click the bubble to agree to the license version.
Then download this version
Mac OS X x64 221.98 MB jdk-8u45-macosx-x64.dmg
Of the java development kit .. ( it should be the first major section containing downloads, on the middle of the page )
Once you download the DMG.. Make sure to open the package and install it.
Then, run this simple repair
Open your finder ( magnifying glass ) type in disk utility, and launch the disk utility application.
On the left side of the disk utility window, click your mac hd, then at the lower right hand side, click repair permissions .
Once it says permissions repair complete, restart your mac.. And test.
Working now? Or still get the same error message.
