Yes iCloud is enabled and yes I have tried
Turned calendars off on ipad and back on but
still not synching. Will try your second advice, please wait while I do.

Done the above, no change. On the website the calendar is shown as iCloud
Jason I have to go. The issue is still unresolved. Will get back in touch next week but it seems more than likely there is an issue with Maverick. Am tempted to go back to Mountain Lion as I do need to be able to sync between iPad and iMc.
