Hello! Thank you for your question. I am a licensed computer / tablet professional with over ten years of experience, and I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. It looks like Apple has disabled local sync with Maverick, but you can sync calendars via Wi-Fi/wireless/network. Do you have iCloud enabled? Have you tried syncing calendars with iCloud?

Please let me know. Thank you,

Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Yes iCloud is enabled and yes I have tried

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 9 months ago.
Sorry about that. The internet is working fine on the iPad right? Can you go to Settings -> iCloud, then turn off /on Calendar, then check?

Make sure iCloud is turned on on both the iMac and iPad:
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html

Can you press and hold both the Power button and the Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears, then wait a bit, then check.

Can you see more calendar troubleshooting steps at:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999

Please let me know. Thank you
Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Turned calendars off on ipad and back on but

still not synching. Will try your second advice, please wait while I do.

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 9 months ago.

Also, make sure Internet/Safari is working on the iPad. OK., please take your time. Thank you

Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Still not synching

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 9 months ago.

Sorry, please turn off wi-fi off/on on the iPad, and check Internet/Safari on the iPad. Then check at:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999

Thank you,

Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Done as you suggest, internet is working fine. What are support@apple going to tell me that you can't?

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 9 months ago.

Sorry, it just provides more methods, such as on the iMac:

    1. Open Calendar (or iCal).
    2. Open Calendar (or iCal) Preferences.
    3. Click Accounts. You should see an account with your iCloud member name in the Apple ID field.
  • Turn iCloud Calendars off and back on:
    1. Quit Calendar (or iCal).
    2. ChooseApple logo / menu > System Preferences, then select iCloud.
    3. Deselect the checkbox next to Calendars.
    4. Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
    5. Open System Preferences and select iCloud.
    6. Replace the checkmark next to Calendars.
    7. Close System Preferences.
    8. Open Calendar (or iCal) and test to see if the issue is resolved.

It's long:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2481‎

If you go to the website http://www.icloud.com/
, which calendar do you see?

Thank you

Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Done the above, no change. On the website the calendar is shown as iCloud

Expert:  Viet - Mac Tech replied 9 months ago.
I'm sorry, I'm out of suggestions, but let me open the issue to other computer experts. Thank you

Hello and thank you for your question today. My name is Jason. I look forward to helping you today.

I see that you have been working on this problem for quite a bit of time.

Do you still need help with this problem? If so, may I start a screen sharing session on your computer and help you resolve the problem? I will send a remote link within minutes after your response, so please keep refreshing the page. No extra charge.

Thank you.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Thanks that would be helpful
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

Thank you.

If you are using a PC, Internet Explorer works the best. If you are using a Mac, only Safari will work with this remote.

Please, click the following link and allow the remote app to run: http://166.78.231.170:8040/?Session=3b070ff9-cd49-49b3-83e4-9630751dd034

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I have both Firefox and Safari. Will open up Safari now

Having a problem joining the session.
The login asks for username and password. Not sure which ones they want as this is first time I have used it
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

That is odd. It should not ask for any of that.

Please, try the other solution below.

- Please, click the following link, download that file, and run the file: https://secure.join.me/Download.aspx?webdownload=true
- Then download and allow that remote app to run.
- Once it is finished, please, tell me the 9 digit number that appears on the top of your screen.

Thank you.

Jason it isn't working. Still not synching.
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

Cannot download, says safari can't open the file
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

Okay.

It is the same file that you already downloaded hours ago and got running.

What is the name of the file?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Sorry but it seems to have disappeared, only downloaded file today was for Java
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

The JAVA file was downloaded in Firefox and not in Safari. That means that you have Firefox opened and you do not have Safari open.

Open Safari and in Safari, go to www.join.me

Then click the play button.

Then open the downloads window.

Then double click the new file that downloads.

Thank you.

I was disconnected.

The syncing was working between your MAC and your servers.

You were explaining that you use the Safari application on your iPad Mini. This means that it was working.

You can refresh the page on your iPad mini and not have any problems.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Yes my iMac closed down, how do I get you back?
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Jason my apologies but this is starting to drive me round the bend. Could it be an issue withMaverick?
Seem to have lost you, have tried to log back in. To the session on the iMac but it refuses. To let me join
Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Jason I have to go. The issue is still unresolved. Will get back in touch next week but it seems more than likely there is an issue with Maverick. Am tempted to go back to Mountain Lion as I do need to be able to sync between iPad and iMc.

Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

There is no problem on your Mac and no problem with Maverick.

Between your Mac, which has Maverick, the calendars do sync. I showed you that.

If they are syncing there, then they are working.

Please, post a message when you are here and ready to continue.

Thank you,
Jason
Customer: replied 9 months ago.

OK Jason's, I'm ready,to tear about some more hair.as I Mentioned this has only happened after downloading Maverick
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

You are ready for what?

The Mac is syncing.

The Mac is complete.

There is no need for me to do anything else on the Mac.

It is working.

On your iPad Mini, you must refresh your calendars manually or just wait for them to sync automatically.

Jason, I have entered items on iCal on the iMac and items on the iPad but neither appears on the other.i know it takes time to do this but nothing happens. I really am at a loss
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.
Please, turn your iPad off and on.

Go back and look at the calendar, did it update?
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Will try
Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Yes at last it updates. Items entered on iPad now appear on iMac. So what was the cause of the problem?
Appreciate your patience
Expert:  Jason replied 9 months ago.

Thank you for the update.

The problem was just reconfiguring the Mac as I did.

You will not have any more problems.

Thank you.
