Hi can you help with Photoshop

David Ruck :

Hello. I can help you with your photoshop needs.

David Ruck :

Is your current document a .PSD file, or is it currently a .JPG?

Customer:

Its a JPEG

David Ruck :

What is the resolution of your JPG file?

David Ruck :

Also, where are you outputing your JPG to? Is this for posting to web or print?

Customer:

300 pixels per inch

Customer:

client wants them emailed but they are tpoo big

Customer:

can I reduce ti file size without compromising quality?

Customer:

they vary between 14 ans 29 Meg

David Ruck :

Have you attempted to "Save for Web" rather than just "Save As"?

Customer:

no

David Ruck :

With "Save for Web" you can compress the file which shrinks the file size. You can have some quality loss if you compress to much, but you have full control and can balance the size/quality. I'll walk you through this.

Customer:

Ive found save for web and that takes it down to 5.19 Mg

Customer:

I think that should do

David Ruck :

Did you notice on the Save for Web window that you have full quality control on the upper left hand side of the screen, and as you make quality adjustments, you can see the updated file size at the bottom left side of the screen.

Customer:

cool
