I was given an iPad, version 2 I think last Xmas. No problems

This answer was rated:

I was given an iPad, version 2 I think last Xmas. No problems with it - loving it!. Had a message to update to version 7 (?) All went smoothly and I like the new version. However, I have a problem with my iBooks library. I have quite a few books as I am an avid reader and for some reason I cannot open them. The iPad User Guide ... no problem but that doesn't resolve my problem which is ....
When I open any others (27 of them) a message pops up ...
Failed to load book because the requested resource is missing.
What does this mean and how can it be fixed? I was reading a book just 24 hours to this happening. I am not great with computers, so please a step-by-step might be necessary for me to fix this.
Thanks you for your help.

Hi Carol,

I am Vinod. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.

What I understand is when you open any book inside iBooks, it just doesn't load, correct?

Let's try a simple reset first. Press and hold the power button and the home button together until you see an apple logo.

Let's see whether that resolves the issue. If not, we will try the next steps.

Thank You
