So I can better assist you, I will need additional information. What version of itunes on your Mac are you running? To find this out, click on iTunes in the top menu bar and choose about iTunes

Michelle :

It sounds like itunes is having issues establishing a connection with your iPad. if your iTunes is up to date, try disconnecting your ipad, quit itunes and then re-connect your iPad using a different USB port

Michelle :

If that does not work, let me know and we can continue with the next troubleshooting steps

Customer:

iTunes 11.5.1. Changing ports does not answer.

Michelle :

Thank you for the additional information. So we can isolate your issue further, do you have an iphone or iPod that you can connect to itunes?

Customer:

Yes. Connected my iPhone and it sinced well

Michelle :

Ok so it looks like the issue may be with your iPad. Lets try a reset. Press and hold both the sleep and home button at the same time for 30 sec or until the apple logo appears. The sleep button is located at the upper right corner and the home button is the round button on the bottom front bezel of your iPad
