Customer Question

/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS/rastertoescpII failed

This message appears suddenly when i try to print on my Epson WP-4530 from a mac computer. The printer still works fine when printing from a windows based computer. I've found other people who have written on more than one forum with the same problem, different Epson printers.

Note: I have tried every single method found on every forum listed on the first page of Google search results when you copy and paste that error message into the search. I've also been on the phone with Epson tech support twice with no luck, as well as Epson live chat. I've tried just about every possible solution there is, and I thought why not write in here and see if by extraordinary luck, there happens to be a TRUE genius here who can offer me a unique solution.

One more day or so, and I'll be bringing this thing outside to beat it violently with a sledge hammer. With the massive manpower at both Epson and Apple, it amazes me that they can't figure out how to make their software updates compatible.

I'm not sure I have. I'll try it. I'll delete everything you've listed above. Then re-install the driver, etc. right?

Expert:  Kamil Anwar replied 3 years ago.
Correct.

Before doing this, unplug the printer from Mac.

Please post results here.

Thanks

Hi Kamil,

Sorry for the delay. It still doesn't work. I went down your list and deleted everything you suggested. Then re-installed the recommended drivers off the Epson website. Still nothing. It just won't print.

Hi Will,

Please Go to "Printers & Fax" on "System Preferences"
Turn on and connect usb cable of the printer on the Mac
If the printer show up on list remove it
Click on "+"
It should show your printer, and your scanner
Then Add it, and see if it works.
